Change the Color of Wenchuan
A major earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale hit Wenchuan County of southwest
China's Sichuan Province at 2:28 p.m. Monday.
Seven days into the earthquake, aside from donating tens of thousands yuan for earthquake
relief, major portal websites in China including Sina.com, Sohu.com, 163.com, and QQ.com are also
changing their main page into a mournful gray.
Viewed from the aeroplane, we could see that Sichuan used to be covered by green fields, but
what is the color of Wenchuan now? I don't know. But I hope that with everybody contributing
something, we'd change the color of Wenchuan from black, into orange, which stands for hope, green,
which stands for dedication, and white, which stands for peace, tranquility and safety.
