Chinese Savvy is a comprehensive and efficient new web-based tool for Chinese language learning. Our aim is to promote the study of Chinese in the forms of Mandarin speaking and simplified Chinese writing, and to promote trans-cultural communication in the Chinese language. Our goal is to give non-Chinese individuals a better way to interact with Chinese, and facilitate two-way communications between Chinese and other cultures. In short, we want the world to better understand China and benefit from its vast resources and splendid achievements.

Our Chinese Savvy team is comprised of native Chinese speakers with backgrounds in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, English studies, media and communications, distance education and international communication. We are thoroughly equipped to provide users with Chinese language courses that are both practical and 100% genuine Chinese, all the while maintaining the highest in educational standards. Through our diverse editorial and user-generated content, we provide users with a unique balance of Chinese and global perspectives.

We have chosen English as the language with which to present our website to make browsing and studying as hassle-free as possible. In doing so, we hope to build and engage a more universal, more global online community. No matter which continent they call home, users will be able to take advantage of Chinese Savvy resources and facilities.

Chinese Savvy is an open project, and we feel that collaboration with others is of the utmost importance. We welcome those with special skills and interests – from educators and linguists, to web designers, media workers and writers – to contribute to any and all areas of our website. Bilingual or multi-lingual users are especially encouraged to participate to enhance the learning and cultural immersion experiences of our other users. Chinese Savvy's native Chinese volunteers are happy to assist those learning Chinese language with all facets of their studies and, in the process, perhaps even learn something from users about foreign culture and language. We firmly believe that all users can contribute to, and benefit from, this wonderful exchange experience.

Finally, users should take note that we are not funded by nor do we belong to any government organization, political party, or religious group. However, we understand that politics, public policy, and religion are all important topics in global communication and cultural exchange. We respect freedom of speech and encourage all users to engage in legal and respectful communications.

At Chinese Savvy, we truly believe that trans-cultural communication in the Chinese language and the opportunity for cultural exchange will spur greater mutual appreciation between China and the other nations of the world. We know this to be a cause worth laboring for and strive to achieve this goal every day.
