地坛(the Temple of Earth)

 

　　 地坛坐落在安定门外东侧，与天坛遥相对应，虽然如今已没有天坛那么著名，但地坛在明清两朝是向地神祈福以保佑不受水火等灾害的场所，也是我国最大的“祭地”之坛。如 今地坛更著名的是每年春节举办的春节庙会。可全家或朋友结伴，在庙会上品尝各种地方小吃、观看特色表演，场面其乐融融。 在图中你能找到多少个“地坛”（包括繁体字和简体字）?

        This park was once an altar for the emperors to pay sacrifice to the Earth God in ancient China. Built in 1530, the altar became a park after the founding of the PRC. The two-story worshipping platform in the center has been kept intact and it and the surrounding areas have become a popular dance spot and practice center for tai ji quan (shadow boxing or “Tai Chi”). During the Spring Festival, a traditional temple fair is held here each year. Various traditional holiday snacks are served, arts and crafts are sold, and various folk dances and songs are performed. Ditan is also home to a thriving new restaurant and bar area that it hopes will expand the area’s restoration project.
